Depression is a common mental disorder that presents with depressed mood, loss of interest, feelings of guilt, disturbed sleep, low appetite, and poor concentration. There are a number of things that causes depression and it varies for individuals.

Depression can be overcome by talking to a doctor or counsellor. You can also talk to people you trust. A doctor can administer antidepressants for such a person. Apart from that, such a person can do positive things from which they derive joy. Begin to see the positive aspects of everything you do. For example, if you feel like you had a bad day don’t ruminate on the bad part think about the good part you enjoyed about the day.

If you are on an antidepressant, use ur drugs as prescribed and promptly. Overcoming depression does not happen immediately it takes time but the result is always rewarding.
